Moon Phases: This Is How The Cycle Of The Moon Influences People’s Minds

Would you like to live more consciously and in harmony with nature in 2024? Then it makes perfect sense to take a closer look at the different phases of the moon and their effects on the mind. It can be assumed that the moon – just like the sun – certainly influences us. It is not for nothing that indigenous peoples still live according to the tides. Whether you are particularly esoteric and believe in horoscopes or not: Especially in our fast-moving times, it is not wrong to live more mindfully and reflect on yourself now and then. And this is how it can be achieved in harmony with the moon:

THERE ARE FOUR PHASES OF THE MOON

Before we take a closer look at the influence of the lunar cycles on the mind, we should familiarize ourselves with the four different phases of the moon: new moon, waxing moon, full moon, and waning moon. A new lunar phase is created by the rotation of the moon around the Earth. A lunar cycle lasts 29.53 days, roughly the same length as a month. The planet Moon itself doesn’t change in shape, the sun just shines on it at a different angle. During the new moon, the sun, moon, and earth are exactly on one axis, which is why the moon appears to be illuminated from behind, while during the waxing moon, the right side of the moon increasingly takes on a sickle shape. When the moon is full, the sun shines directly on the moon, but when the moon is waning, the right side of the moon wanes again.

THE INDIVIDUAL PHASES OF THE MOON CAN INFLUENCE YOUR MOOD

Those who live more in rhythm with nature can feel more balanced and powerful and can align themselves more mindfully. Perhaps you will then pay more attention to your emotional world – and better recognize what is good for you and what is not. These dynamics are said to be associated with the individual phases of the moon:

RECOGNIZE WHAT MATTERS: THE NEW MOON

The new moon is a good time to ground and realign yourself. In general, this moon phase represents new beginnings. Instead of activism, you should now become aware of what is currently important to you and what you want to focus on. This self-reflection can help you to consciously manage your strengths and not rush into anything.

START SOMETHING NEW AND BECOME ACTIVE: THE WAXING MOON

As the moon waxes, many people feel energized and full of energy. Use this power now for yourself and your projects. Anyone who has spent the new moon phase calmer can now draw on the full potential – and tackle and implement it. This moon phase is also perfect for new input.

ALLOWING AND ACCEPTING STRONG EMOTIONS: THE FULL MOON

As brightly as the full moon shines, it can awaken so many emotions. During the full moon, you may perceive and feel emotions much more intensely than in the other moon phases. You’re more happy, but maybe you’re also more depressed than usual. What’s important now is to become aware of your feelings, accept them in all their diversity – and let go of what doesn’t get you anywhere. Yoga sessions and meditations can help you achieve more inner balance.

LETTING GO OF WHAT CAN GO: THE WANING MOON

During this phase of the moon, you can let go of what is bothering you or things that you no longer need. Whether the decluttering takes place externally or internally, you will feel so much lighter afterward. Projects can also be completed perfectly and make room for new things. This is a wonderful way to prepare for the upcoming new moon. Try it!
